Arranging Your Own Work Experience
Arranging your own work experience can be a very exciting process. Make sure your work experience has purpose. How can you do this? Make sure you are thinking about your passions and future career and life goals. If you are able to arrange a placement within these your chosen fields, you will have a greater insight into how your future might look.
Let's get started
BEFORE HSC WEEK:
STEP 1: use Unifrog (it contains a resume template) or Word to write a resume that describes the best of you and your experiences. Look at examples of good resumes to help guide you.
STEP 2: make a list of potential companies/ businesses that would be a good match based on your future goals.
STEP 3: Download and print the required documents.
STEP 4: Complete Parental Consent form and returned to your MEA teacher.
STEP 5: Share Company Information Letter with prospective companies so they are informed about the program. If possible, meet with a member of the companies HR team so that they can assist you in securing a volunteer placement during the HSC Week.
STEP 6: Have company supervisor complete the Company Agreement form.
DURING HSC WEEK:
STEP 1: Be punctual, dress appropriately and act respectfully. Show your eagerness and be open to learning new things.
STEP 2: Document your experience with journal entries and photographs.
STEP 3: Do your best to represent yourself and DAA with pride.
AFTER HSC WEEK:
STEP 1: Reflect on your experiences and submit a reflection through Google Forms.
STEP 2: Present a summary of your experience to your MEA class.
